2. Summary

3D Topology Optimizer calculates everything on your device. There are no servers and no user account; the developer does not collect personal data from the app. The free app does, however, show advertising through Google AdMob, during which the Google Mobile Ads SDK processes data (see section “Advertising”).

3. Processing on your device

Geometry, load cases and results are processed exclusively on your device and stored only where you save or export them. The app does not send models to servers of the developer.

4. Permissions

The app accesses files through the dialogs provided by the system and only receives access to the files you select. The prompts about advertising and app tracking are described in the section “Consent”.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app is free to use and shows advertising from the Google AdMob service (Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC). The Google Mobile Ads SDK is integrated for this purpose. The SDK may process data such as IP address, device and software information, app usage and ad interaction data and – only with your consent – the advertising identifier (IDFA) in order to deliver ads, prevent fraud and measure ad performance. Google processes this data under its own responsibility; data may be transferred to the USA and other third countries. See policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and Google’s privacy policy. The developer receives only aggregated reports from Google (e.g. revenue, number of ads), no data about individual users.

6. Consent and withdrawal

On first launch, where required by applicable rules, the app asks for your consent to advertising through Google’s consent dialog (User Messaging Platform); afterwards Apple’s system prompt for app tracking (App Tracking Transparency) appears. If you do not allow tracking, the advertising identifier is not read and non-personalised ads are shown. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw or change it at any time: on iPhone/iPad under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking (on Mac in System Settings); ad personalisation can additionally be controlled in your Google account settings.

7. Purchases

Paid additional features are handled entirely through Apple’s App Store. We do not receive payment data. The app checks locally via Apple’s StoreKit framework whether a feature is unlocked. Apple’s privacy terms apply.

8. Local settings

The app stores settings and the status of consent and purchases on your device. This data does not leave the device.

9. This website

This website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). When you visit it, Cloudflare processes, as a processor, technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address, time, page requested) to deliver and secure the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare states that it relies on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. To defend against attacks, Cloudflare may set technically necessary cookies. This website does not use cookies for analytics or advertising and does not embed advertising, external fonts or trackers. The app itself does not call this website automatically; a connection is made only when you open a link.

10. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. The developer himself does not process personal data from the app; assert rights against Google directly with Google.

11. Children

The app is not specifically directed at children and does not collect data from them.

12. Changes

We will update this policy if the app or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
